Our Nursing Services

We provide 24 hour Nursing care supported by a suitably qualified Team of staff . All staff are required to undertake additional recognised training in Dementia Care along with a wide variety of other  training which is ongoing.

Our lounges and day areas vary in style to suit different needs and requirements. Each has a satellite kitchen where visitors are encouraged to make their own tea, coffee and light snacks. Residents may choose to dine in the privacy of their own rooms if they wish. Accommodation is provided in tastefully furnished single rooms, all with en-suite facilities.

Management and Staffing Arrangements

At Dundonald House we specialise in providing care to Residents who may have a complex range of care needs physically and mentally. Therefore we retain a high level of Mental Health Nurses, who have particular expertise in caring for Residents who have Dementia.

We also provide additional training to Care Staff in Dementia Care via outside training Agencies such as Alzheimer's Scotland. We work closely with other Health care professionals, Social Workers, and outside agencies to ensure the care we offer is based on current Best Practice.

Support Arrangements

You can be confident before moving in that we will meet your support needs and personal preferences. Staff will develop with you a personal plan that will detail your needs and preferences and sets out how they will be met, in a way that you find acceptable.

How do we do this?

Prior to being offered a place at Dundonald House the Manager will discuss in detail with you and where appropriate, with your consent, with other significant people who are involved in your care. A nursing assessment of your needs will be carried out at this time.

Following this a plan of care will be made with you to clearly set out how your needs will be met.

At Dundonald House we use a comprehensive Documentation System that covers all aspects of your Daily Life. You will have the opportunity to be involved in completing this plan and will be asked to sign the plan once completed. Your plan of care will be reviewed with you every 3 months or sooner if required.

We will also, if you are willing, involve your family in helping us develop a plan of care that suits your needs.
